Soccer season has started. Wrestling season has started. Our Saturdays are going to be busy for a while. Pat is coaching Hannah's soccer team, the Ice Breakers. They had their first game today. I forgot to take my camera out of the car, but I snapped this after the game while she was enjoying some candy. They tied 1-1. Not bad for the first game & with 3 new girls on the team. They should have a good little team this season. A couple of the girls are in love with Pat. So funny. "Wait Coach! I have to give you a hug before you go!" This game was @ 1:30...we drove there after spending FOUR HOURS @ Ryan's first wrestling tournament.

Ryan was so excited. I thought I might just pass out or throw up waiting & watching. Pat is coaching Ryan, too. MTWTFS are booked with him coaching something. He's a good Dad. He's going to be a tired Dad.
His first match was over before I knew it. I couldn't see very well & was positioning for a better view. I saw them get separated & I thought they got out of bounds. Then the ref raises Ryan's arm for the win. What the freak! He pinned the kid in 15 seconds! He was so excited, but it was understated.
Like, "Yeah, I beat him. DUH!"
The second match was harder. I could see Ryan being awarded points, but couldn't see the score. I am so new to this & it can be really confusing. It went all 3 periods & Ryan won 12-5.
The last match was the hardest & I told him it would be. It was the championship match. He would take 1st or 2nd, depending on if he won. He was ready. He seemed cool & calm. I was freaking out. Not to mention I was trying to watch Izzie the Beast. Hannah just read a magazine the whole time & was awesome. There were 550 wrestlers in this tournament & there were people EVERYWHERE! Seriously.
The 1st period it was looking not good. The other kid from Bloomfield was really working him. Ryan's match was the ONLY match going on because they were waiting to start the next division. Because it was the ONLY match going on, EVERYONE was watching HIS match. At the end of the 1st period, 0-4, Bloomfield. Not looking good. Ryan was getting mad & I thought the other kid was hurting him because of the look on his face during the 1st period. They lined them up for the 2nd period & Ryan exploded after the kid before the ref even blew the whistle. Haha. It was still not looking good for him when I saw the other kid take Ryan down & get awarded more points. I think Ryan was growling at the kid. When the 2nd period was over, the other kid was crying. The score: 0-8, Bloomfield. Pat, being the die-hard competitor that he is, knew that this was Ryan's chance. He told Ryan the other kid was afraid of him & to go after him. Shane, Pat's brother, was also coaching Ryan & told him to push the other kid in the chest & go for his legs. Ryan said ok. He went AFTER that kid in the 3rd & final period. Got him on his back & pinned him. Crazy. CRAZY! We were all freaking out. Pat was so proud & couldn't stop smiling.
1st Place in his 1st tournament
